Rainy Day Wax Canvas Cap

To build the best naturally water repellent cap made, we linked up with a 150 year old oilskin maker in Scotland .Halley Stevensons' has been waxing the best cotton in the World (with character, at their Baltic Works, since 1864) We picked out their superior 8 ounce dry finish oilskin for its light weight, dryness of finish, and the natural beauty of its brown color and patina. Unlike most of the heavyweight & clammy wax cotton hats made these days, the wax on these won't double as your hair pomade.

We designed these hats to both properly repel rain and take full advantage of cotton's breathability in warmer and sunnier weather. Waxed cotton is a natural windstopper, so you may find this a necessity on climbs into the high country or trips to a windswept coast . While made for weather, (its not a hat you'll want to wear in the middle of the day in July) its still light enough to be a "go-to" cap.

This hat is part of our  "22" line...minimal embelishment , premium materials and hand built in the USA. Small 22 leather flag label sewn next to a nylon strap. Bombproof plastic center release buckle allows for micro adjustable custom fit. Finished with a proprietary lightweight sweatband thats not bulky and will stay comfortable for the long haul.

Patterned with a mid-deep 6 panel, unstructured crown, this is a deeper version of our original Classic cap, but comes with visor flat rather than precurved. You will find the fit deepens as you bend/break in the visor. Fits best on small-Large heads.
